Well baby

I have a well baby indeed!  Connor weighed in at 22lbs 11.5 oz…solids did his body good! His height was 30.5…maybe a tiny bit over but it was hard to be accurate.  He got a clean bill of health everywhere else with the ok to start milk (I didn't say we already did) and peanut butter.  We promptly came home and had peanut butter & homemade strawberry jam for lunch. He loved it! But lets be real here…Connor really loves everything.

He did get shots :( He cried but I think it more had to do with the lady holding down his legs…she did not seem very friendly! He loves his nurse and smiled for the other assistant…just not Franken lady. As soon as I picked him up all crying stopped then he got a sticker which he put in his mouth and by then I knew he was fine.

He’s been playing like normal since lunch using everything and anything as a walker.

On another note…I got laid off today. While we weren’t dependent on the money I was bringing in we were dependent on the full medical benefits I had. Which means it’s going to cost more money than we have in reserves to have this baby. Ugh! Well at least I don’t have to worry about working on the two projects I found out about last night over the weekend and can focus on getting ready for Connor’s party!! Yippee! Hopefully the rain stays away!

1 year!

Today our baby turned a year.  It was a day filled with emotion for me…I just can’t believe I’ve been a Mom for a year already.  I feel like time just flew by and next thing I know he’ll be off to college (In state college!)  As far as the day went it went like any other day…Connor was full of joy and as active as can be. He wasn’t  awake for more than 30 minutes and the house was torn apart. It didn’t help that I got out his play tent that was a hand me down from cousin Ashley…he loved it and spent most of the day going in and out and pushing it around. He also loves his pool (also a hand me down from cousin A) full of plastic balls. Both the tent and the balls are for his party this weekend but I have a feeling they will be out all summer. I’ve been storing them in the formal living room…good thing we don’t ever use it.

Sid actually came home early today as was here when Connor woke up from his afternoon nap…much to his delight. He loves his Daddy! Connor chose homemade chicken strips and broccoli for his birthday dinner and we were happy to oblige although we had homemade onion rings instead of  broccoli. Of course we (I?) couldn’t wait for the main event…cake!  Giant cupcake – 1 Connor – 0…in other words it didn’t go over like I expected and he seemed downright scared of the thing.  It was a good thing I had back up…which he rather enjoyed. I still think I’ll make another giant cupcake for his party but possibly skip the candy liner…haven’t decided yet.

All and all a great day for a great boy!

One small step...

Could this be a sign of more to come? Tonight Connor on two different occasions took a small step all by himself. He wasn't paying attention to what he was doing and clearly thought he was still holding on to something. They were small and I wouldn't say he's walking but nonetheless it was exciting to me and Sid. I tried several more times the rest of the evening to get him to stand and walk to me but he wasn't interested in playing my games.

One week

and I will have a toddler! I'm excited & scared. These maybe the last pictures I have of Connor as a so called infant. Everyday I look at him and think that it seems just like yesterday I was bringing him home.

Jam sandwich (can't wait to add peanut butter) & peaches! Shhh don't tell but I've also started giving him a little milk...he loves the stuff! Unlike me who can only drink plain milk under certain circumstances...with cookies or brownies or spaghetti.

Connor fell and hit his eye on one of his toys...he cried and Mommy swooped in and he was over it in about 30 seconds. Well I didn't see it was his eye I thought it was his head so when I finally saw the eye...I screamed and cried and then he started again. Then he stopped and we both laughed and he went on about his day like it was any other day.

This just because he's cute...and I love his new pajammie jams!

I don't know if you can tell...but his hair is in piggie tails. hehe mean Mommy! I'm just practicing just in case baby #2 is a girl. He got me back though by dropping the pepper mill on my toe...and yes I let my child play with a pepper mill. In fact he plays with a lot of things he shouldn't.

Fontenot Baby #2!

Although there is not much to see I'd thought I'd post pictures from the two ultrasounds we had. I wish I could have an ultrasound every week because it never gets old to me. The heartbeat was 150 at 8 weeks and 153 at 12 weeks. Now if you go by the old wives tale anything over 140 means a girl. Of course I don't believe in old wives tales...you just don't know until you know! Everyone except Sid thinks it's a boy. We of course don't have a boy name picked out...unless you count Connor II. However of all the names I've thought of Grant is the front runner I just don't have a middle name to go with it.

I've been feeling pretty good lately but those first few weeks after I found out I was pregnant were hell. I was so sick and every little smell got to me. But lately things have been great. I'm tired but I can't blame that all on being pregnant some of it is just for keeping up with a soon to be toddler. The one main thing different this time around is I'm still fitting into my reg clothes and have not gained any weight. (Well at this point I might be lying I had a fondness for double cheeseburger's this week and Sid took me out to a fancy dinner this weekend) But I've been pretty good about the snacking and really am not that into chocolate. I don't have that gotta have it feeling and in fact weeks went by where I didn't even have any. I'm committed to keeping my weight gain to 15lbs because I can not gain what I did last time and even half would be to much.

8 weeks. Down on the bottom is his heartbeat at 150

12 weeks This is a whole body profile shot. I tried looking for the goods and even asked them to tell me...but they wouldn't. The tech did say "HE" at one point and I called her on it but she said it's just habit...we shall see! :)

We have the big one schedule for 20 weeks...7/2. I can hardly wait!!

Oh and the 2nd best thing about having a new baby...it gets me out of hosting/cooking Thanksgiving Dinner! I'm due 11/19 but since I'm having a c-section they will do it at 39 weeks. So Friday 11/12.

Just for fun!

Look who's standing all by himself!! He's being doing it about a week now and stands all alone for longer and longer each time. I'm guessing this is a step in the walking direction. I'm excited and nervous at the same time for him to be walking. I can't believe he's almost 1.

This picture cracks me up...Connor had already had dinner and I thought he would play while me and Sid ate but I was wrong. The boy loves to eat and I thought what the hell lets see what he does with it. At first he was scared of it but Sid showed him how to eat it and he chewed on it, squeezed it and shook it all around while we ate. When I took it away...he cried!

FAIL!

I attempted to take Connor's 11 month pictures today...and it was not good. I don't get how other people get their baby to sit and smile. My only option is to get him while he's sleeping or put him on a blanket outside since he won't go on the grass. I'm so ready for 12 months already...I'm over the month pictures!!

How can you not love this kid?
