Who moved my cheese?

That's right folks 3 days shy of 9 months Connor crawled! Ok so it’s not what you traditionally call a crawl. It’s more of a bear walk but that is a form of crawling.  Today he actually got in some knee action but still for the most part he wants to do the bear walk.  I have to admit it was kinda nice today when he was playing on the floor practicing his skills, chasing his balls and playing with his activity table because I was able to get my chores done and he was content playing by himself. I’ve got tons of uninteresting video of him playing that I will post soon.  I’m so proud of my baby he seems to me making these HUGE steps towards being a toddler vs. being a “baby” but at the same time I’m a little emotional about it.  As soon as he becomes more of a mover we will join some type of “kids” club so he can have some interaction with other kids.  A boys gotta have friends right?!

We are also getting into sitting position from our tummy.  I’ve actually found him sitting (& standing) in his crib the past 2 days and figured he was using the bumpers to get up.  But nope today I saw him not once but twice get to sitting with no help from anything.

And about the standing…we lowered his crib to the lowest.  Boy it’s a long way down to pick him up but I just couldn’t rest easy into he was lower.

Now I’m going to cry after writing about how big he’s getting. lol

They’re back….

Oh I forgot some of the most exciting news in my previous post.  Connor is FINALLY getting his top teeth…4 months later.  His right incisor has actually already broke through.  I only hope the 2 middle ones and left will be coming soon…or else I’ll have a snaggle tooth kid.  That wouldn’t be so bad though because it would make for some GREAT pictures.  His mood seems to be generally good throughout the day…at night he gets fussy but with some tylenol he’s still sleeping through the night.  Of course now that I said that he won’t sleep tonight…always happens that way.  Again I get the award for least observant parent because I didn’t even notice …Sid did.  I of course tried to get my hands in there to see after he mentioned it to me and Connor kicked & screamed and fought me …but I did get a quick glimpse after 2 days of trying.  I’m persistent aren't I!?

What did you say!?

Dada…Mama!  That's right folks that’s what he said.  Ok so he doesn’t know what he is saying but he babbles on and on and on.  Dada was first and Mama followed about 5 days later…no fair!  He waves bye-bye…and seems to favor his left hand so I’m thinking maybe we have a lefty?! He’s still not crawling but what he actually does is get his feet flat and then pushes up with his hands still on the ground…I think he may be doing some yoga! He loves to stand and takes a few wobbly steps.  Sometimes he can balance on his own for a few seconds.  Despite not being able to crawl (or walk) he still manages to move around on the floor and get anything within his reach…even a piece of dirt or coffee bean. (He then takes said dirt/coffee bean and tries to put it into his mouth…lol)  I’m excited yet scared to be on the cusp of toddlerhood.  Since we’ve being having nice sunny 60 degree weather we’ve made a few trips to the park. Connor LOVED and I mean L.O.V.E.D the swings…I’ve never seen such pure delight.  He smiled and giggled and smiled some more…we are now in full planning mode of our very own swing set.  I can’t wait!!

Seriously these two blogs…well the life changing story these two blogs are about…rocked me to my core. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes.  All I can do is count my blessings, enjoy every waking moment with my family and not sweat the small stuff…like a missed nap or shoes that don’t match.

Almost on the move!

Ok I think I’ve been saying that for awhile now…but Sid says he believes Connor will be crawling in the next 2 weeks.  We shall see. (Note that I’ve also been saying more teeth are coming and we have NOTHING since 4.5 months so take what you want from that! :p)  Even though he isn’t crawling around yet he still is into EVERYTHING!  Anything in arms reach he will grab big or small.

When he’s on his tummy he can spin around…and round and round and round.  It’s actually pretty funny to watch.

Different day…more of the same stuff.  Don’t you just LOVE his cow baby legs?!  The men in the family think he’s wearing leg warmers…lol
