Connor's ugly face!

Connor dumped cheerios all over the floor and the ones that he didn't eat stuck to him...but he didn't let a few stuck cheerios stop him.

A dinosaur!

Remember those non-resolutions?

So we are nearly 5 months into 2010…lets see how I’m doing! :)

1. Spend less money. Especially on coffee for me & energy drinks for Sid.

I’d say this is going well…since I can’t stand coffee these days! While he hasn’t bought a case of red bull in ages Sid has been frequenting the corner store for his fix lately. I think it motivates him to get his projects done.

2. Eat better & exercise…however since I’m spending less I’m not joining any program or gym…just going to be hardworking and dedicated. :/

Well this had been going well…although I did spend some money. I started doing water aerobics at the local pool but I only pay for what I do so no wasted money by not going…which I haven’t been.

3. Plan a weekly menu & grocery shop accordingly. We actually already started this and it’s going pretty good.

Going good…there was a couple weeks there I was not motivated but we are back on track. Chicken parmesan tonight!

4. Piggy backing on the above I’m also making sure if I buy an item for a meal and only need half I must cook something else that week using the other half. I’ve wasted so much food by only using half the package.

I should get a gold star in this!

5. Take some time for ME…me me me! Between the cooking, cleaning and child care I’m burnt out. Then I get kinda bitchy and well there is no need for that. So I’m going to make an effort to go out and do something by myself…maybe grab a coffee! Shit that cost money huh?!

Thanks to an awesome Mom/Grandma I’ve been able to do this and since Connor is pretty predictable with naps/bedtime I sneak away then too!

6. Learn to use my camera. I mean really learn to use it.  Sid got me a nice zoom lens for Christmas but I still have no idea what I am doing. A dslr is just so overwhelming.  I'd also like to learn how to edit the photo's I do have. I've already got a hand me down version of adobe Photoshop but again...Overwhelming! I’d love to go to shoot camp but at $150 it breaks rule #1…spend less money.

Fail fail fail! Well at least I found a setting that makes Connor stand out and sort of blurs the background. Other than that it’s pretty much on auto! I haven’t even opened Photoshop since I installed it.

7. Send out birthday cards to members of our family…near and far. I’ve actually got everyone’s birthday on the calendar so that’s the 1st step!

Fail again…cards are stupid & a waste of money! I send my love via facebook!

8. Go to church. Well maybe. I wasn’t raised religiously but it’s important for me to teach Connor about faith and God. I don’t think we will ever be devout worshipers but it won’t hurt to have a little faith, ah faith, ah faith. Maybe we could get Grandma Sandra to attend with us. At least if we go to Catholic church we will get some exercise!

hahaha…

9. Find a job. (A real one not this work as needed for Ohno gig I got going on) Really?! Yes…why because I actually miss working. I miss adult interaction. I also want a really expensive coach purse…lol

Got the purse! I didn’t even have to get a job…I call that a win win!

10. Find out how they make Chipotle’s hot salsa. I tried something last week and it was a FAIL. I think I should just get a job there to find out the recipe.

I’m still searching…but now I want Chipotle!

11. Get pregnant…haha no I’m kidding. Wait am I?! I’ll never tell…

Winner!

12. Read more. Actually in the last week I’ve read two books. I got a nook (e-reader) for Christmas and now that I have a fancy gadget I love to read! Unfortunately I’ve got a stack of books on my night stand that are actually books I need to read too. After going digital and then going back it feels so outdated! lol

Yes yes yes…I read those old school paper books & lots on my ereader! Good times!

13. Get our closet/bonus room organized. It’s a mess. We have enough kitchen gadgets and shit that we could run a little restaurant out of our shed. It’s also crammed full of camping gear, rifles, Connor’s swing and tank that Grandpa Roxwell left him, Wrapping paper & bows (that what I get for shopping at Costco) & a bunch of other crap Sid won’t part with. Actually most of that is crammed in the corner in haphazard organized fashion. But the file cabinet is where I need to be. We have not filed 2008 shit and now we are about to add 2009 to the pile. Ugh!

Well we made great progress on this…and then it went to shit again. We are in the middle of some projects and until those get finished stuff can’t be moved out. We do still need to have a garage sale though.

14. Finish the last 10% of all our home improvement projects. It’s embarrassing to have people over and have them see that we still need to touch up the paint or fill in the nail holes. I will NOT start on our room until we are finished up on everything else. Now that Connor is getting more independent I can help Sid without having Connor cry to be held or fed.

We started more and we have another nursery to do…we are so f’n crazy!

Hmmm…not that bad but not outstanding either.

Sid resolution:

Read this blog post.  I doubt it.  He only checks the blog out for the pictures. :)

I’m pretty sure he failed this!

Mmmm

I'm not sure what it was he ate...but whatever it was he liked it. So much so he wouldn't let me clean him up!

Cooking with Mommy!

I seem to always be in the kitchen...and so does Connor. Maybe I've got a little chef on my hands (one can hope someone will be able to take over the cooking duties!) He loves the strainers & lids to the pots and pans. He also takes out all of the snacks on the bottom drawer of the pantry and spreads them all over the floor. I've given up on trying to stop it...it makes him happy, keeps him busy and there could be a lot worse things for him to get into. My mantra...Don't sweat the small stuff!

I've been slacking!

For a couple weeks there I felt really shitty so I haven't taken many pictures of Connor. Although not a whole lot has changed...he's still the cutest baby EVER! :) Here's a few pictures from Easter. Connor wasn't to sure what all the fuss was about but Daddy sure enjoyed his candy. I picked out the jelly beans but I can't stand chocolate right now so it's still waiting to be eaten. Grandma & Grandpa Hayward also got him a Easter basket...he prefers the book they got him over the one Mommy & Daddy got.
